We went to the Salvation Army Social Services Center in East Lake on Saturday, March 27 to do a "room make-over." We painted a 10' X 12' room and tranformed it into a TV/Family Room for children to play and hang out in with a sitter while their parent or guardian attends budgeting or nutrition classes. The room was outfitted with new paint colors, new sofa, end tables, lamps, rug, toys, books, games, videos, and a storage bin to place them in. Grant contributed some of his framed photography to hang on the walls. The youth did an amazing job on this room as well as installing shelves and sorting canned foods for the food pantry. We also stocked their freezer with 35 pounds of gound beef and chicken to use as part of their nutrition program. Another awesome ARK day with the high school youth from Christ UMC. Church, be proud of them and, when you get a chance, tell them. God is using them.
